100% Cotton slub denim
This denim is cool to the touch and has the weight of traditional Western fabrics. It features an irregular weave, thicker in places - that’s why it’s called slub. A cotton that’s designed for a shirt with personality, that can be worn in many different ways, all year round: buttoned up over a t-shirt or unbuttoned over a turtleneck.
It’s made of cotton, a plant-based fiber whose cultivation requires sunlight and long periods without frost - for that reason it only grows in certain parts of the world. Ours is woven in Italy by the Canclini workshops near Como; their manufacturing expertise dates back to 1925. They employ renewable energy sources and cutting-edge dyeing machines allowing them to save 70% on energy and water use. For cotton that’s entirely traceable, grown without pesticides or fertilizers.

Care
This garment can be washed in the washing machine, on a low spin cycle that doesn’t exceed 30°C. Lay it out flat to dry to ensure it keeps its shape well.
If you’d like to be even gentler, wash it by hand: leave to soak for 5 minutes, rinse and wring it out while keeping it wrapped up in a towel to preserve the natural fibers.
Last tip from us: be conservative with the detergent and softener, there’s no need to overdo it. Store the clean folded garment in a cool dry place.

Design
Great craftsmanship begins with premium quality ethically-sourced materials, giving you a garment that will last a lifetime.
This shirt has a shifted armhole, a typical tailoring technique from Naples and Apulia that requires time and precision, resulting in a more comfortable piece that gives you room to move. Seams have seven stitches per centimeter: high-quality shirts have narrower stitches because they’re more refined and resistant.
The flat fell seam is 3mm wide: the border at the bottom is small and fine, and the side stitching is narrow and elegant. To fell means to sew on the wrong side, taking the excess fabric, folding it under a sewing machine foot and closing it all. This technique requires a certain level of experience.
Where the side seam meets the hem we’ve added a gusset, a small triangle of fabric to reinforce the stitching.
It has snap fastener buttons, each consisting of four separate components. Attaching them takes time and accuracy.
The finished garment is then washed, so the shirt will stay as beautiful as you see it. Our artisans line up the fabric at the cutting stage and wash the finished piece so it won’t shrink in subsequent washes.

Made in Italy
We’ve always put our trust in the hands of the best local craftsmen. Afterall, Italy itself is like a huge open-air workshop. This shirt was sewn in Noci, in the Bari province. The Apulian district has a long history of excellence in the textile industry. And no one knows this better than Maurizio, the owner of our shirt factory - his family have worked in the sector for 70 years. Every detail is thoroughly researched and planned out, and time is a key part of the process. Get to know Maurizio and the artisans.
